SISTERHOOD

Why AEPhi?

Sydney A.

When I walked through the doors of AEPhi I felt at home; I knew it was where I belonged and where I wanted to be. I had the privilege of being the President of this chapter for the past year and have watched it grow so much. Not everyone gets this experience and I will be forever grateful for it. Being President, although stressful at times, showed me how important this chapter truly is. Rho chapter brings people together and gives them friendships that will last a lifetime. AEPhi has given me people to have fun with, laugh with, cry with, and most of all make memories with. I am always myself with these girls and know they will be there for me no matter what. Without AEPhi and everything it has given me, I can positively say I would not be the person I am today.

From the moment I stepped in 200, I immediately felt at home. Aephi has been a vital part of my college experience. Being on the executive board of Aephi, I not only learned the importance of being on a team, but I found people that I was able to grow with. Aephi gave me strong friendships that will last a lifetime and an everlasting passion for sisterhood and community. I am so grateful to have experienced all that Aephi has to offer.

It's not about what memories you share, it's about who you share them with. When I look back on my college experience, AEPhi is the first aspect that comes to mind. From the moment I walked into 200, I felt a sigh of relief. After the long, tedious day of rush, I was happy to finally be here. Coming to AEPhi felt like coming back to your dorm at the end of the day. Relaxing and comfortable. Here the rounds felt shorter, the conversations felt more natural, and the house felt like home. From the second the girl rushing me asked if I like the show Friends, I knew this was the place I would be for the next 4 years. Everyone says trust the process, but I say trust yourself. At the end of the day, we are all here to find a place we can call home and people to lean on when things aren’t going well. But most importantly, we are looking to make memories we will one day tell our kids and laugh about 30 years from now. I have found people I can not only live with, but people I cannot live without. It is hard to imagine that 3 years ago I did not know these people that I now call family.

Looking for a place to feel comfortable on a huge campus like Ohio States’ seems like a very difficult thing to do. Stepping into AEPhi, all the fears and doubts of finding my place here completely went away. I’ve found a place where not only do I feel comfortable but I can be my best self and I’m surrounded by girls who make me a better person. I always have people to go eat late night snacks with, talk for hours on end with never ending laughter, and always have someone with an open shoulder to cry on. I can confidently say if it weren’t for AEPhi, I wouldn’t have found my people and my place to call home.

From rush, to bid day, to my first PC sisterhood, I instantly knew AEPhi was the perfect sorority for me. AEPhi introduced me to my best friends that I know I will be friends with for the rest of my life. I feel like I have known these girls my whole life when I met them only a year ago. I am so grateful for this sorority because without it, I would have never made the extremely close connections I have today.

AEPhi is a sorority where I always feel at home and never want to leave. When I leave 200 to go back to Maryland, I truly feel homesick. I went through recruitment knowing nobody and now I have my people. Being part of AEPhi has been one of the most transformative experiences and I’m so grateful for it. I know AEPhi will always be there for me.

Everyone always said that college is the best four years of your life. Being in Aephi has helped me to realize that this is true. Aephi has given me the opportunity to experience Ohio State for all it has to offer: game days, the Short North, late nights in Thompson, and so much more.  Aephi has made Columbus my home and provided me with a family who pushes me to be the best version of myself every single day. Everyone was right, college has been the best part of my life, and Aephi is to thank for that.

come phind yours.
