Betty met her late husband, Alex, at Ohio State. They studied business and were part of the Class of 1939, with Betty earning a certificate of commerce while Alex graduated with a bachelor’s in Business Administration. As success came their way, the Schoenbaums paid forward, making their alma mater and education a priority. “The scholarships I give, I think they’re going to one of the finest universities in the country," Betty Schoenbaum says. "We have so many majors and so many fine professors. We’re just one big city of education." (OSU)
Betty has done so much for us throughout the years and we are truly grateful for her love and support!

Pledged Winter Quarter 2010 - Rho Advisor 2014-2016
Currently Advisor of Nu Chapter at the University of Pittsburgh
Positions held: Fundraising Chair and VP Programming

Through my leadership experience in Aephi, I learned how to throw a successful fundraising event as well as how to successfully plan a program. This experience ultimately aided me in finding my dream career, Jewish Communal Work. Following my graduation from Ohio State, I worked at the Louisville Jewish Community Center as the Middle School Director, Assistant Camp Director, and Jewish Programmer. After 18 months in Louisville, I received the Jewish Federation of North America's FEREP Scholarship and returned to Columbus to pursue my Master's in Public Administration with a focus in Non-Profit Management and Jewish Studies. While in graduate school I interned at the Columbus Jewish Federation in the campaign department, specifically working with Young Adults. While in graduate school, I returned to Rho chapter as an advisor. Upon graduation, I moved to Pittsburgh and started a career at the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh as the Director of Women's Philanthropy. Although I am quite busy with work, I make it a point to still stay involved in AEPHI, recently I became an advisor at the University of Pittsburgh's AEPHI Chapter. I am so thankful for my time in Rho Chapter!
